Arrival at Gate

Access to our premises is always via Borringhauser Straße. An illuminated pylon serves as a sign indicating the entrance.

In order to keep the main roads clear, we ask all forwarders to approach the marked parking lot first and then register with the gatekeeper. Here, important information is recorded, such as the loading documents, the truck license plate number and the driver's name.

Drivers are also given important information on the rules governing conduct on the company premises. For example, wearing safety shoes and a safety vest is already mandatory at registration.

For effective coordination and to make waiting times as relaxed as possible for drivers, they are given a pager that tells them when they can load or unload via an acoustic signal and a text message on the display (adjustable to different languages).

There is also an inviting waiting area including a small kitchen, coffee machine and television. Smoking is permitted in the outdoor area.

For safety reasons and due to the high fire risk of cardboard, smoking is otherwise strictly prohibited on the entire plant premises - even in the company's own freight forwarding vehicles.

  • Attention stacking traffic. Please do not walk through the areas where loading or unloading is taking place. Please use marked walkways.

  • Wearing safety shoes and safety vests is mandatory for all people.

  • Smoking is prohibited on the entire plant premises and in the trucks. There are smoking rooms where smoking is permitted.

  • Please adhere to the speed limits specified on the plant premises. This applies above all in the accessible loading areas.

  • Attention automatic operation. Many gates open and close automatically. Please observe the installed light signals.

  • In case of fire, please leave the plant via the nearest exit and proceed to the nearest assembly point. 

  • Please do not dispose of any waste or cigarettes on the plant premises.

    • Sufficient parking spaces are available on the premises. At the gatehouse there are modern recreation rooms including a small kitchen, vending machines, and TV. The sanitary facilities also offer the possibility of showering, so that drivers can rely on a good service even if they are staying for a longer period.

    Smoking is strictly prohibited on the entire premises. Smoking is only permitted in the designated smoking areas.

    Important note: In the day-to-day working environment, minor accidents can occur from time to time because of turning too tightly or similar. We therefore ask you to report any damage immediately to the gatekeeper so that it can be rectified as quickly as possible and safety on the premises restored.

    In this context, it should be noted that there is also a legal obligation to provide information in the event of damage. For operational reasons, our entire outdoor area and all relevant areas are under video surveillance.


    Loading and Unloading

    To ensure safety on the premises, compliance with regulations is essential. In order to be able to offer a reliable and smooth logistics service, some important points must be observed, such as driving at a walking speed, especially in the shipping hall, or that the loading zone may only be entered during loading in consultation with the forklift drivers.

    Of course, in the interest of its customers, service providers and suppliers as well as in its own interest, Zerhusen Kartonagen strives to keep waiting and loading times as short as possible. However, since waiting times can still occur, especially at peak times with a high number of loads, we ask for your understanding and patience. Modern logistics software ensures transparency as to how long trucks are on the premises for loading and unloading.
