Stephan Weil visited the Zerhusen plant in Niedersachsenpark
The minister president, Stephan Weil, was a guest at the Zerhusen plant in Rieste on the 1st of December. The goal of his visit was to be informed about the development of Niedersachsenpark and to tour the new plant. The politician was warmly welcomed, accompanied by many other guests from the worlds of politics and business.
Ansgar Brockmann, Mayor of Neuenkirchen-Vörden and Chairman of the park's shareholders' meeting, welcomed the guests and outlined the 25-year success story of Niedersachsenpark. It is currently home to 78 companies with 3,300 employees.
In his speech, Stephan Weil praised the inter-municipal cooperation and the pioneering work carried out by the founders of Niedersachsenpark. He also emphasized the importance of small and medium-sized businesses and in particular the role of family-run companies such as Zerhusen Kartonagen.
Roland Zerhusen presented the impressive history of the company, which has grown from a two-man operation in 1987 to a company with over 700 employees and a second plant in Niedersachsenpark. The capacities of the new plant were explained by Robert Zerhusen, plant manager of the site.
During the following tour of the plant, Stephan Weil was very impressed by the state-of-the-art equipment and automation. As a parting gift, Linda Stärk presented the Minister President with the coat of arms of Lower Saxony, handmade from corrugated cardboard.
